weekend!
Four Years Later.
Four years ago the revolution was defined as the green revolution.
A lot of powerful change has happened since then, and I feel we are more socially conscious and globally aware compared to four years ago. I feel that today we are wondering how we can all move all of those ideas even further. Where/how will the next shift happen? What is each individual’s role in the current revolution, and how will it be defined?
I believe that in 2012, moving those 2008 ideas forward means a true shift in human awareness Meaning moving from a superficial state of being into an honest genuine state of being. I believe it means being aware of what we value as a generation, and redefining some of the labels put upon us by the higher ups/elders.
What I know to be true about our generation is that we care so deeply about a better future and we care so deeply about each other regardless of our differences. I know that we truly believe in giving our children/those who come after us a better future free of judgment and hate. I know that we are a generation that does not fear change but rather embraces it- just like all of the shifts in technology that we have deeply embraced.
Our elders have said that for once future generations may not have it better than those who have come before. But, I know that we will fight with courage for a better future because we care far too much to let it fall.

I am so grateful to have been able to work with such passionate and talented writers to create this essay about two poets living and attending college at The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
